Health & Safety Policies

Illness Policy

  • Children must be fever-free for 24 hours before returning
  • Vomiting or diarrhea requires 24-hour absence
  • We will call parents if a child becomes ill during the day
  • Please notify us if your child has a communicable illness

Medication Policy

  • Prescription medications require written authorization
  • All medications must be in original labeled containers
  • Over-the-counter medications require written parent consent
  • Staff will document all medication administration

Immunization Requirements

  • All children must have up-to-date immunizations per NC requirements
  • Immunization records must be on file before the first day
  • Medical exemptions require documentation from a physician
  • Records must be updated as new vaccines are administered

Emergency Procedures

  • All staff are CPR and First Aid certified
  • Emergency contacts must be reachable at all times
  • We conduct regular fire and emergency drills
  • Parents are notified immediately of any emergency
